An outstanding out-of-school activity, run by professionals, which is rewarding, stimulating,
highly educational and FREE!
In actual fact - we pay you!
St Peter's has three choirs - the Boys' Choir and the Girls' Choir, both of whom sing with a group of altos,
tenors and basses, and the St Peter's Singers, a mixed voluntary adult choir which meets once a month.
We are totally passionate about adopting the traditional choir model - one which has survived in England for a
thousand years -
and forging it into a contemporary, lively and all-embracing social, spiritual and musical experience. We provide
opportunities, develop individual and group skills, strive to be family-friendly and provide benefits
(including a free weekly after-school hot meal,
a games room and an annual holiday). We combine them with an outstanding musical challenge in a spiritual setting to make this
among the most rewarding, exhilarating, satisfying and enjoyable experiences of a child's life.
It's no exaggeration to say that the experience offered by being in a modern church choir is unparalleled as a team activity.
Don't take our word for it - read (on the Choirs page) what many figures in public life have said about their experiences
as choristers.
No musical experience is necessary. We have some of the area's top professional
musicians and vocal coaches on the staff, and they're here to convert raw potential
into enthusiasm, confidence and skills which will last a lifetime.
There are perks for parents, too, making this one of the easiest and most rewarding taxi runs of the week!
